Clinton Revisted

Took a little ride with hubby this morning, we finally made the trip back to Clinton. It was a blustery cold morning so we didn't stay too long. I did manage to get a few shots in though, after all that was why we went.

You may remember this mill from our previous trip in Novemeber . I just couldn't wait to make a trip back after a snow! You can see the ice on the river, brr!

This road looks just as pretty as it did in autumn....

We didn't walk the town this time, it was far too cold!

A Mother's Sorrow

While I was getting into the groove of my Project365 I've met some very nice and interesting people. I've also been using Twitter as a means of sharing my Photo of the Day with others who've undertaken the challenge of posting a picture a day.

It was during one of these Twitter exchanges that I saw the totally heart breaking story of Gavin David Bruce Norton. This story left me without words, it made me realize all the wonder that I have in my life, and the gratitude to be thankful for all the joy!

The joy of watching my beautiful daughter grow into a wonderful, caring and vibrant young woman is truly a blessing.

Day One - Polar Bear Plunge

I witnessed the Polar Bear Plunge at Asbury Park this afternoon! Steve and I decided back in November (oh, darn I never did go through or post those shots... another project for another day!) to go to this event and maybe get some interesting shots. Funny story... my Nikon had no SD card inserted and the point and shoot back-up? Well, that was on the kitchen counter! (I needed to lighten up the bag one day) So, thirty five miles from home what was I to do? I managed to remember my cell phone, and that my friends is what I had to work with! I managed to witness and record the day on my trusty blackberry. In the photo above the Polar Bears are all at the starting line and ready to "Plunge". The weather wasn't too horrible, it was about 42 degrees at this point in the day, I wouldn't attempt getting in the water but I guess that is down right balmy for a polar bear!

I totally loved this little dune buggy! This vehicle belonged to the rescue crew, who seemed a bit smarter than the average bear... they were covered head to toe in wetsuits! But this buggy is just adorable, isn't it?

All things considered it was fun way to spend the first day of the decade... Nice weather, fun event, a chance to try out the Blackberry camera.

There is one thing that still kind of bothers me though... When we arrived back at the car the parking slot # was painted on the street:

I'm hoping this isn't a sign of what's to come! I'm not really a superstitious person, I'm just saying...

Belated Christmas Wishes

It never ceases to amaze me how time just manages to slip away, oh so quickly. December has been a complete run away! You all know the all too familiar "Holey, moley Christmas is here!" frantic pace!

I have been happily busy getting things ready for Christmas with Family and Friends, but seem to have just caught up to my cyber-friends! They seem to have it all under control... even running contests to win some their prized prints. Just check out this lovely print you can win over at Kate's Chronicles very lovely indeed. Oh, don't forget to congratulate her on her two year blog anniversary while you're there!

Hope you had a great Christmas!

Sugar Pup: History is all around us

New Jersey is full of history, as one of the original colonies there is lots to learn on a Sunday drive. A few weeks back we traveled to Washington Crossing, we certainly had a beautiful day!

My photo buddy Sugar Pup came along for the ride, she really likes exploring..

We even peered through the window of the Nelson House, the old glass and reflection gives the view a very dream like feeling.

Autumn was all around and the view from the foot bridge was spectacular! The D&R Canal has been a favorite of ours this fall, and provides a nice reflection here.

The bridge in the background leads to Pennsylvania, and more of the Washington Crossing history. We didn't have much time to explore the Pennsylvania side this day but did wind up traveling north to New Hope.
